Mahamilan is a social drama that is based on the ups and downs in the life of our protagonist, Dr. Nilanjan Chaudhury goes through. The movie ends with a serious accident where little Nilanjan loses his father in a car accident and his mother suffers from memory loss. Nilanjan makes it his life’s aim to become a psychiatric doctor so that he can return to treat him mother. After returning, Nilanjan changes all the malpractices that are prevalent in the hospital, casing a lot of added problems in his life. There, he meets another patient, Priya, who suffers from simple amnesia, whom he challenges to make better with fellow antagonist, Dr. Roy. He gradually falls in love with Priya, and fights against all odds to make all things right. The story has a very well written story line, with many twist and turns, to keep the viewer engaged. It ends on a happy note, addressing the social stigma of mental health in our nation, and gives out the message of love and humanity.
